Back in the late 90's when I got the mad idea to become a Unix sysadmin, some of the afpers collected books for me and brought to an afpmeetup in Stockholm. I've still got those books around, too. I got so much encouragement and help from there!
Also, the DWCon of 1998 still holds the record for "best evening spent at a con" ;-)
