One cloud feels lonely
Jun. 21st, 2004 10:10 amLast week Mom told me that her father and my (paternal) grandmother were both in hospital. Grandmother has trouble breathing, grandfather has a bleeding ulcer.
Today I called Dad to ask how grandmother's doing. Dad's wife told me that grandmother is doing OK, but she needs oxygen and has trouble with emptying her lungs, so she can't get enough oxygen for the blood to get to her brain, which is probably why she's been having bouts of seconds-long unconsciousness causing her to fall. Apparently she's finally coming round to moving to some care facility, which is at least a good thing.
However, now Dad is also in the hospital. He's had bad abdominal pains lately. They think it's gall stones. Which shouldn't be dangerous, if that's the case, but the test results from the liver weren't too good, either.
On the brighter side, I'm going to a job interview this afternoon. If anyone's inclined to keep their fingers crossed for me around 11 am GMT, I'd appreciate it.
