Well, there are three more...

Strings, that is. On the violin.
Today, for the first time in more than ten years, I picked up a violin and put on my shoulder to play it.
It sounded horrible.
One of the reasons being that the violin, being new, needs to be retuned frequently. Another reason being that I'd no control over the bow at first, though it did improve a bit fairly quickly.
The third reason being that the screw on the E-string kept slipping so the tone ended up lower than the one on the A-string. And when I tried getting it to stick, I tore the damn string.
Ah well. Back to the music shop tomorrow. I should be able to pick up some more interesting notes as well - I bought a "first violin book" just to get the basics right as I'd forgotten most of what I learned 25 years ago, but I'd like something with a bit more melody to aim for. After all I did use to play some concert music, not very advanced, but I did it well enough not to be booed from the stage, and while "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" is good for tuning and practicing the basics I do want to have something more challenging waiting.
