Turns out the violin isn't broken. Once I'd thought about it I realised that all I needed to do was to push the screw a bit further in and it will stick. I still need a new string, though.
I loved that picture! And Calle thought it was our Tusse in the picture at first - we have that book too (actually we have two copies) and that cat has almost the same colour and markings... Thanks for the link!
