The real accounts I've seen (US servers (Ysera), so YMMV) are players who have installed a "hack". The hack takes over their account and presto! Instant gold/leveling spammer.
You know, after a hard day fending off spammers at work, the last thing I want to do is to have to fend off spammers while I play.
