Windows XP. My laptop got itself a fan failure, so I got to borrow another from the IT support people while they get Dell to fix the borken one.

My eyes are hurting. And that's after I turned off all the teletubbies crap they've got on it by default.

If I have to use XP, the first thing I do is set the display properties (or whatever) to 'Windows Classic'.

That was one of the first things I did, too.

I never thought there'd be a day when I'd actually long for a W2K computer... but there's too much work stuff for which I need Windows; I really really want to have the least painful version of it there is.

Windows 3.1 was uglier. XP is gaudy-ugly, but 3.1 was truly, bone-deep ugly.
