I've got a cold. I'm not at work. I'm at home, in my bed, reading [livejournal.com profile] thebratqueen's slash, and occasionally laughing out loud at the so wheedonesque quips and jokes.

A friend suggested whisky with hot water and sugar to help combatting the cold. I was about to demur as per usual that I can't take alcohol. Then I started counting.

I haven't had a painkiller since Tuesday, when I was out riding.

Three days now and I haven't had a pain killer. More, I haven't even thought about it.

Gosh wow.

I think I took a magnecyl for the cold once. I know for sure I didn't take any yesterday.

Wow, what a change. I remember when not getting your prescriptions on time would mean sheer misery. Congratulations!

Great news about the painkillers. Hope the cold is improving by now.

I still don't believe that there'll ever come a time when I won't need them at all, but every day when the pain's so low that I don't need the strong ones is a gift from whatever goddess/es have chosen to take an interest.

Skutt hasn't had a chance to miss me yet; I've got him on Tuesdays and I hope to be well enough to ride then. Also I've bought material for a riding skirt; it's felted wool and I'll make a split skirt to wear over the riding trousers. That's going to help a lot - I've borrowed [livejournal.com profile] jegra's skirt occasionally, and even though hers is of a fairly thin material it makes a lot of difference as it keeps the body heat around my legs instead of letting it evaporate.

I think it is, a bit. And I don't have to go to the stable today; Jegra's housemate's daughter will take care of the horses. She enjoys it and I'm very happy to not have to leave the house.

How nice you made a riding skirt. Maybe we can see a pictures of you in the skirt on the horse later? I hope you feel better today. I kept inside and made Jansson Frestelse for Christmas. I put it in the freezer.

I haven't actually made it yet, but once it's done I'll make sure to put a picture up somewhere. Thanks for the kind wishes!

Thanks for your kind words, and good luck with making the skirt.
