Umm, the hard ware. Is it supposed to stick out of your arm like that? It looks painful.

Yes, that's how it works. It's screwed into the radius bone and a bone in the hand and keeps them fixed in position. I'll be wearing this fir fuve weeks. The elbow fracture was easier - I've just got two internal screws there and I can already support some weight on it.

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.
That brings back painful memories and I didn't have nearly so much sticking out.

Ouch.

Sympathies. Tea. Hugs.

Oh my, it looks you are a cyborg and it looks painful too. Now I remember that I was gliding down in the mountains while hiking. Fortunately I did not break any arm but my wrist was sprain. It was in the 70th. I had a type writer and wrote letters with one hand. And it worked. But then I did not care for the uppercase letters. I only wrote lower case letters and my friends could understand my letters even if it only was lower case.

Ow! Apart from anything else, that must make sleeping rather awkward - and I hope for C's sake that you don't flail your arms around in your sleep! Glad to read that the operation was a success and hope that it's not hurting too much.

I have to sleep with the arm high, so I rest it on top of two pillows. I generally sleep on my right side anyway so it's not thar bad. I haven't hit Calle with it yet anyway!

I got up on a horse who was a bit skittish. Then I got down rather unexpectedly and landed flat on my belly with the left arm under me.

*ow*ow*ow* Take it easy and get well soon - I hope it all fuses and heals properly in the shortest possible time.

And if anyone can make me feel better about the bits of iron it's you!

Maybe I should order some chain mail decorations for it?

Or go the other direction with some black rubber. :P

They did... Morphia while I was in the hospital, now I'm home I've got a combination of codein, paracetamol and tramadol. It works, plus it makes me all fuzzy, thus matching my fuzzy red dressing gown.
