Six degrees of LJ
Oct. 26th, 2003 09:19 pmDo you remember the old SixDegrees website? The one where you'd enter your name, and the names of people you know, and they'd add the people they know, and so on.
Today I started following the "friends" links of the people who commented on my first LJ post. It took way less than six jumps to find people I hadn't heard from in years. In some cases, people I've cared deeply for, and been sorry when our lives changed in ways that made us drift apart. And now I can see at least the part of their lives that they're willing to share with the world.
I used to wonder in what ways LJ could possibly be better than Usenet. Now I've found the first one.

Date: 2003-11-07 02:09 am (UTC)Hi Tap,
Very nice to hear from you! I mentioned you just last night, when a friend asked me how I came to be a wiccan... I might post more about that story; for now, suffice it to say that I am and have been for the past three years or so.
I've been married since June last year; there's some pictures from the wedding at Calle's website (http://www.cyberpomo.com/wedding/).
I've still got the same job, still got three cats, still got the endometriosis. I've added a touch of burnout and some hobbies. Otherwise it's much the same as last time we heard from eachother...
